Welcome to Thanksgiving Tuesday

Today is the day to get organized and get your mise en place done. Mise en place is defined as "getting everything in it's place". I'll take the time today to chopped the celery, onions and carrots that I'm going to use in the stuffing. I'll also clean and cut all the veggies for the vegetable crudite. The fresh cranberries are cleaned and sorted (removing the bad ones) to get them ready for the orange cranberry chutney.

It's time to update my lists and make a new one for tomorrow. First thing in the morning, I'll take the cream cheese out to get room temperature for the cheesecake. I love my lists! They keep me on track and help me with my time management.

I'm going to get creative this year and try new recipes that I've been working on. My husband says, "test run for the big day?" I laugh because he is not one to hide if he likes or disapproves of a recipe. Most are successful, but now and then I have an epic fail. Those are the funny ones that we remember the most.

So blast that Christmas music and start your preparation for Thanksgiving. Have everything done so you can sit back and enjoy the day with your family and friends. Raise a glass and be thankful for a great meal!

Enjoy!
